A HOSPITAL ward throws open its doors to visitors tomorrow.
Ward 19 at Blackburn Royal Infirmary is holding an open day for GPs, students and hospital staff to promote an exciting new project.
The ward is an elective ward which cares for patients who are undergoing planned orthopaedic surgery and the staff are working towards becoming a Practice Development Unit.
To be awarded Practice Development Status, the team needs to display achievement of a series of standards of good practice and will be assessed by two external organisations, Aintree Hospital NHS Trust and Edge Hill College.
