THOUSANDS of pounds of cash aid could have put Clitheroe town centre securely in the picture for Christmas. A £21,000 hand-out had been offered by the Rural Development Commission towards installing a closed circuit television security system in the town. Ribble Valley Borough Council had to find the other half of the estimated £42,000 cost.
