I AM looking to have published a history of limited company paper mills operating in Lancashire about 1870 to 1890. As a number of them were located in the Darwen and Blackburn area, I wonder if any of your readers had memorabilia (share certificate, photographs) or family stories which I could use.
Two families heavily involved in Darwen paper mills were Taylor and Kay and I am particularly interested in family stories regarding William Taylor and Joseph Kay (of Darwen Co-operative fame) who lived in Darwen in the 1860s and 1870s.
