THE nomadic wanderings of goalkeeper Jan van Boeckel earned a vital point for Division Two side Lammack against second-placed Witton Inn.
The South African veteran found himself at the opposite end of the field deep into injury time and proceeded to bullet a header into the top corner of the Witton net to cancel out an earlier strike from Dave Cox.
A hard-fought encounter between Cooper Rigg and Foresters saw the points shared. John Murphy and Jamie Smith were on target for the Woodsmen with Matt Turner and Howard Clark replying for Cooper Rigg.
Division Two leaders Heys Inn brushed aside Fox and Hounds, netting six without reply. A Gary King brace coupled with goals from Simon Gilrane, Jason Threlfall, Danny Allwood and Pete Rigby completed the rout. This Ossie outfit looks a good bet for promotion on this showing.
A Darren Tierney double set the stage for West End to take a point from Uncle Jack's, for whom David Bates and Mark Johnson got on the scoresheet.
White Bull against Corning Communications was the game of the two Garys. Bush netted two for the Comms and Thomas two for the Bulls. But a further strike from Paul Yates gave White Bull the full points - their first of the season. With Bee Hive on LFA Trophy duty - they lost 3-1 to Mammas FC from Blackpool - Old Toll Bar took full advantage, turning over New Gardeners and planting themselves on top of the Division One pile. Lee Usborne scored the first, followed by Gordon Moore (2), Steve Elmer (2) and a Ryan Clanford strike completed the scoreline for the Toll Bar who have yet to concede a league goal this term. Keeper Craig Shannon was the Gardeners' outstanding player.
Station's poor start to the season continued at the hands of Darwen Alexandra. Two rare goals from evergreen Matt Atkinson and one each from David Barnes and sub Nigel Yates kept a strong Alex team in line for honours.
After a goalless first half in the Servicemaster v Lord Raglan fixture, things livened up after the break and goals from Brian Derbyshire, Greg Windle and a brace from Steve Lynch helped Servicemaster clean up maximum points.
Goals from Jimmy Riley and two from Anthony Perry for Dexter Paints, stirred a five-goal reply from Jubilee. A Dean King hat trick and an Akil Kadir double helped take the points. A memorable goal from Chris Corbett for Division Three leaders Guide, was cancelled out by a Dave Topping strike to help Longshaw gain a point. Guide will regret not taking their host of first half chances and dropping their first points of the season.
Goals from Pete Maynard and Johnny Neale penalty gave Park Inn a 2-1 victory against GFR Plumbing for whom Mick Longworth poached a consolation goal.
Two first half strikes enabled Wellington Samba to continue their good run of form against Crown Berger despite a strike from Liam Taylor for the Paint men.
A hat trick from John Francis was not enough for Stanley Arms in their bottom of the table clash with Sign & Poster. Andy Gregson, Anthony Whittaker, Jason Brown and Mark Walsh were all on target to give them their first win of the campaign.
