BRIAN Kidd will ask his boys to do men's jobs against Premiership tabletoppers Leeds United at Elland Road tonight, in a bid to pull off a major Worthington Cup shock.

Twenty-year-old Damien Johnson, David Dunn (19) and Damien Duff (20) are all in contention to feature in a remodelled midfield, while the Blackburn Rovers boss might also have a surprise or two up his sleeve.

Two more teenagers, 19-year-old defenders Martin Taylor and Leam Richardson, have been included in the squad which crossed the Pennines this morning.

And, if Richardson is handed a place, it would be his first-ever senior appearance in a competitive game - against his hometown club Leeds!

Midfield changes are guaranteed for tonight's third round tie with, in addition to the long-term absentees, Lee Carsley out with a badly bruised foot and Per Frandsen cup tied.

The manager might well also rest the likes of Christian Dailly and Callum Davidson who played two internationals last week.

But he should be able to welcome back Craig Short for at least part of the game, after hamstring problems.

And Matt Jansen is back in contention up front after shaking off a bout of food poisoning to prove his fitness in the reserves last week. Any kind of victory tonight - even on penalties - would be a real tonic for Rovers, as well as a shock. But it will be clear from the team they field that promotion remains top priority. They are likely to choose the starting line-up from: Filan, Kelly, Kenna, Grayson, Short, Peacock, Taylor, Richardson, Johnson, Dunn, Wilcox, Gill, Duff, Blake, Ward, Ostenstad, Jansen.

Leeds have their sights firmly set on winning the Worthington Cup and, as such, are expected to field their strongest available side.

The Leeds team should come from: Martyn, Robinson, Mills, Radebe, Woodgate, Kelly, Bakke, Batty, Hopkin, Kewell, Smith, Bridges, Huckerby, Haaland, Jones.

The draw to decide which clubs are home and away in the Worthington Cup fourth round will be made tonight at 10pm on Sky Sports 2. The pre-determined draw means that the winners of tonight's Elland Road clash will face the winners of the Leicester v Grimsby tie.
