AN antiques collector is offering a reward after thieves stole £3,000-worth of property from his new home.
Burglars broke into Charles Wallbank's house in Ermine Close, on Blackburn's Fishmoor estate, the day before he moved in.
The retired businessmen collects unusual antiques and many of the stolen items were picked up from his travels abroad.
The burglary took place at the end of September and, so far, police have been unable to trace any of the stolen items.
Mr Wallbank said: "Many of the things that were taken were very distinctive and unusual. I am very keen to get them back and that is why I have decided to offer a reward to anyone who can help me find them.
"This burglary has cost me a lot of money and I have decided to improve the security and have special cameras fitted in my home."
He added: "These people came into my home and took everything they could get their hands on, they even ripped out light fittings.
"They took Indian rugs, mirrors, clocks and three brass Indian statues. Many of the items were brought while I was abroad and there is no way I could ever replace them.
"I want these people caught and brought to justice so they can be taught a lesson."
The thieves also took a number of expensive tools, including power drills and an angle grinder.
Anyone with information which would lead to the recovery of the items should contact Blackburn police on 01254 51212.
