IT riles me to think that slap-bang in the middle of our county is an airfield doing nowt! I'm referring of course, to Samlesbury.
I can't see Blackpool airport handling much more traffic during the summer with all the private club flights it handles already.
I have been to Lourdes several times from what is referred to as 'Manchester Airport,' although it's in what was Cheshire. But it takes much longer to get there than it does to fly to the Continent.
I remember when I was a kid just after the war there was talk about getting Samlesbury back to what it was built for - bringing business to the county.
