A BIG charity bonfire will take place at a new venue this year.
Accrington Lions have traditionally held their annual bonfire at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton-le-Moors.
But because of a recent change in licensing status at the hotel, the Lions cannot hold their bonfire there.
A new site has been found opposite the former power station in Altham Lane, Huncoat.
The bonfire, with a firework display costing £1,000, will be on Sunday, November 7.
The Lions believe many will still turn up at the Dunkenhalgh, and volunteers will stand outside to redirect people.
Lions committee member Harold Hardman said: "We understand that businesses change and it is only because of a technicality that we've been forced to find somewhere else.
"The club would like to thank the management of the Dunkenhalgh Hotel for their support over the years and their continued backing for other Lions events."
