POLICE used CS gas after a burglary suspect threatened to kill himself in front of officers.
Two officers went to a house in Hannah Street, Darwen, early today to arrest a man on suspicion of burglary.
Sgt Graham Marshall of Darwen police said: "Because it was early in the morning the officers were letting the man get dressed but he managed to get a razor blade.
"He put it to his wrist and said if the police didn't leave he would cut himself up."
Officers used CS gas to distract the suspect before restraining him and getting him to an ambulance.
A man was taken to Blackburn Infirmary for treatment for a cut to his arm and was due to be interviewed by detectives today.
