MAY I, through your column, thank the Mayor of St Helens, Councillor Pat Jackson, for her kind invitation to the Good Companions Writers Group to visit her at the Mayor's Parlour.
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and appreciated the tour with the mayor, and the thorough explanations of her assistant, Mr Alan Jenkins.
May I add special gratitude for personal assistance given by a staff member who came to my rescue during difficulties in my wheelchair.
