I WOULD like to know what bright spark designed all the white-line patterning in our roads around the St Helens town area. They seem to achieve nothing more than to restrict road surfaces in various places.
And can someone please explain the purpose of the hatched outer circle around the island opposite the Friends Meeting House at the end of Church Street? I fail to see that it serves any useful purpose whatsoever, but again, it restricts road surface areas. What we need is more road surface areas, not less.
What qualifications are necessary to design such works of art?
Denis Brown, Gerards Lane, Sutton Leach.
