A TOP Fylde independent school is expecting record numbers to attend its first Open Morning since it became co-educational.
King Edward VII and Queen Mary School will open its doors to prospective pupils and their parents from 10am-1pm on Saturday (October 16).
The school became a single unit last month with mixed classes in the first year and Lower Sixth form.
And the theme for the morning will be active learning with pupils and their parents having the chance to be closely involved with the exhibition and activities. Both will have the chance to make their own personalised badges in the technology area, have a drink in the French cafe and take part in musical workshops.
Principal Julian Wilde said: "We are drawing on the best traditions of both King Edward and Queen Mary schools. Each has a reputation of being a happy and friendly school and I am determined this will continue.
"Boys and girls will have the chance to see on Saturday that they can expect a busy programme of academic work and a wide range of extra curricular activities."
