Huddersfield 52 Vale of Lune 9
THE Vale suffered their heaviest defeat for more than two years against Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield on Saturday.
It may have been a beating but they never gave up.
Huddersfield's backs were in fine form and scored all their points with their winger Marcus Kelly scoring four tries, speedy full back Craig Rika scoring three tries and Colin Stephens scored a try and converting six.
The home side started the landslide after just six minutes when Kelly picked up a fortunate bounce from a speculative kick to race home.
It went down hill from there as try after try was interspersed by three Vale penalty kicks and although the team never let their heads drop it was a real mauling at the hands of a side fancied for promotion.
Never mind lads, things can only get better.
