BURGER masters McDonald's are planning a new £1million restaurant at Lowton.
The fast food giants, who already have an outlet in Leigh town centre, have put in an application for a 75-seater eatery at Stonecross Park industrial complex.
And that could bring up to 60 new jobs, both full and part-time.
A McDonald's spokesman said: "Plans are for a 75-seat restaurant with drive-through, children's play area and car parking."
There are currently 980 UK outlets in the chain with the 1,000th planned to open on December 31.
If the Lowton scheme gets the go-ahead burgers and fries could be served up in Stonecross Lane early next year.
