COUNCILLORS have deferred a decision on whether or not to hold an independent inquiry into the sacking of former tourism officer, David Christley.
After more than three hours of heated debate, councillors put off a decision until next week.
Mr Christley was sacked on charges of gross misconduct following allegations of bullying.
But an independent industrial tribunal found that he had been unfairly dismissed and that the council's case against him was "substantively and procedurally unfair."
