LUNESDALE Tennis Club in Caton has been served an ace with a smashing £70,000 of lottery cash. The grant from Sport England Lottery Fund will go towards improvements to the clubhouse and tennis courts which are estimated to cost £117,000.
Integral to the new plans are two latex, all-weather courts which will enable the club to play tennis all year round. The club has a strong emphasis on junior and family participation and after awarding the cash, Sheldon Phillips said: "The support for Lunesdale Tennis Club project is very significant in terms of increasing tennis opportunities for juniors and families in rural communities."
