HEALTH bosses are set to unveil details of their Millennium holiday plan.
The strategy, which will ensure patient care is not compromised by the busy Millennium and winter period, will include arrangements for normal winter response and specific proposals for the Millennium holiday.
A Millennium Communications Centre is to established in Bolton, run by the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service, embracing the county's six health authorities.
It will collate information and keep an eye on services over the holiday period. A smaller operation centre will also be established at Fairfield General Hospital.
Evan Boucher, the plan's organiser, said the strategy has considered the impact of the Millennium period on vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with mental health problems and people with alcohol and drug misuse problems.
The impact of the plan for the public will be made known in December.
