ATHERTON LR's misery continued in a 5-2 defeat at top-six side Clitheroe.
Having gone behind on 18 minutes, Rovers hit back through former Colls striker Jimmy Flood who slammed in a rebound after his first shot had been saved.
Trailing 2-1 at the break, a mistake from keeper Mark Winstanley on 62 minutes and slack defending a few minutes later gifted the home side the initiative.
MoM Flood intercepted a back pass to get a second for Rovers on 75 minutes only for Clitheroe to get a fifth in the closing stages direct from a free kick.
In midweek LR drew 0-0 at Bootle, Winstanley rarely troubled in a poor game. Flood, Chris Brookes and Steve Cunningham all had chances to wrap it up.
LR are now six points adrift at the bottom of the table.
