SIX of the best was enough for sidecar racer Dave Holden to capture the EMRA Championship.
Commitments to the British ACU series meant that he was only able to contest six races - but he won all of them to take the title for a fourth time.
And Holden did it in typical style, storming through from ninth row of the grid to take the lead within two laps of the nine-lap heat at Mallory Park.
"It wasn't as easy as it looked. It started raining halfway through, so we had to tiptoe round on slicks," said Dave, who rides an F1 Ireson 700 Yamaha.
With torrential rain lashing the circuit and the championship won, Holden and passenger Ben Birchall wisely decided to sit out the second eight-lap race - which was promptly won by his son-in-law!
John Wild, who also lives in Blackburn, and passenger Graham Holgate, took the chequered flag on their Suzuki 1100 to finish as runners-up in the series.
Dave Holden is sponsored by THG Motor Bodies; West Coast Motorcycles; EBC Brakes; Akito Leathers; and Silkolene Oils.
