Demo Den
CAIT: Untitled -This semi-anonymous Blackburn teenager's tape showcases her strong voice.
Cait's management at Blackburn-based Talking Primates have assembled a band simply for the purpose of giving her a platform for this two-track demo, which I understand has generated some initial record company interest. Her voice on the mellow first tune sounds youthful without falling into the straitjacket of bubblegum pop. There's nothing fancy about the performance, which is delivered competently and maturely.
A flawless rendition of the old hit Baby Love is delivered in perfect tune, although I suspect the voice on this song has been double-tracked or treated with a touch of reverb.
If it hasn't, then I'll stand corrected and say she has an outstanding voice. In the pop world, so much rides on luck, looks and general trends that it's hard to tip for success.
But Cait obviously has talent and more chance of making it than many.
