FIRMS are being warned to beware of Chinese take aways!
A number of companies have been contacted by a organisation in China offering to help exploit patents in their country.
The organisation offers to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds for the use of patented technology in China provided the firm it contacts first sends a down payment of £350.
Some companies which have paid the fee have since heard nothing from the organisation. The British Consulate is now investigating.
The East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce said if firms have any doubts about unsolicited offers they should contact staff.
