A FABRIC firm has collected a top award. Perseverance Mills, of Padiham, won the award from the Outdoor Travel Writers Guild for a fabric - Denier Gradient - aimed at clothing for sports ethusiasts.
The Denier Gradient is made with Pertex, manufactured at the mill.
"It was the only product which we unanimously agreed should win this prize," said Graham Thompson, of Trail magazine.
"It is the one product that has taken a huge leap foreard and genuinely broken new ground."
Yorkshire mountaineering clothing company Rab will be the first manufacturer to make jackets with the new fabric. A number of other international clothing firms are set to use it.
