EIGHT staff from Burnley Council who have each completed 25 years' service were rewarded at a presentation in the town hall.
Each chose a gift, ranging from motorcycle equipment and ceramic tiles to a washer-dryer and hi-fi.
The gifts were presented by bosses with supporting comments from the council committee chairmen.
Recipients were: EIleen Gill of environmental health; Sandra Kendall (planning); David Wood (engineers); Stevan Snaith (accountancy); David Hodgson (housing needs and strategy); Hugh Simpson (economic development).
At the same presentation, long service retirement awards were handed out to four members of staff who had completed a total of 97 years. Susan Brennand from support services completed 20 years, David Gorton of accountancy 27 years, Ian Martin (parks services) completed 27 years and Dennis Bannister (maintenance services) has worked for the council for 23 years.
