NOT a game for the faint-hearted, the team from Liverpool were last year's finalists.
Some of the Blacks' young team did not know how to handle the verbal way the visitors played their game, but in the first half it was the Blacks who produced all the football. Taking the game to the Liverpool team, but against the run of play, the Blacks gave away what they thought was a free kick outside the box, but for some reason the ref pointed to the spot.
Within minutes the Blacks were level with a well-taken goal from Haworth 1-1. A cracking shot from Walker came off the post, and two other chances missed by the Blacks proved to be very costly.
In the second half the visitors put on a more aggressive game and the Blacks found their harder tackling difficult to take.
A mix-up in the Blacks defence saw the visitors go 2-1 up. This was the first defeat of the season for the Blacks, whose keeper Whittaker produced an outstanding display.
