TRADITIONALLY a fixture which is one of the most entertaining and close games of the season, this McDonalds Hyndburn Boys' League set-to was certainly no exception.
Although neither side were able to fulfil their potential due to a strong breeze which persisted throughout the match. Indeed, the 4-1 scoreline flattered the visitors, since Eagles missed a penalty when the score was 3-1 and during a time when they had caused chaos in the Ossy defence.
Previously, superb finishes - a left-foot volley from Dan Clarkson and Chris McGrath 18-yard lob - enabled United to take advantage.
The pair worked their 'magic' again to make it 3-0 when McGrath tapped in from just five yards following another Clarkson cross.
Midway through the second half, Eagles pulled one back with a strong header into the roof of the net from a corner kick on the left.
The penalty miss didn't seem to affect the Blackburn team, and they relentlessly pushed forward to try and get on level terms.
But inevitably, they paid the price when Oswaldtwistle broke away with man-of-the-match Matt Needham crossing for Matt Hindle to stab home the fourth with just two minutes remaining.
