BLACKBURN United are planning an audacious bid to play the Indian national team.
The Indians are coming to this country next year to play Bury as part of the deal that saw Baichung Bhutia become Britain's first Indian player. Bhutia is scheduled to hold a training session with United's junior members in the next few weeks and the club is hoping to use him as a stepping stone to stage the ambitious match with the senior side.
Club director Salim Sidat said: "We have already arranged for Baichung Bhutia to come and coach our youngsters at the club but now we want to ask him if it will be possible to arrange the match with our senior side.
"I think it is brilliant he has come to this country because it has really caught the imagination. Playing the Indian national team would be fantastic and would cause a lot of interest here."
