AT THE weekend the Under-14s representative side competed in the LFA's Inter-League competition but were comfortably beaten by the neighbouring Hyndburn League.
Playing against a very strong wind, the Blackburn side were trailing by two goals within the first three minutes and by five goals at half time. With a lesser wind behind them in the second half, the League held their own for short periods but the much bigger and stronger visitors completed the victory with three more goals.
A trial match will be held this Sunday at Pleckgate to pick a representative side for the LFA's Under 18s Inter League competition. An away match against the Warrington and District League awaits the successful trialists.
