DANNY Chamberlain was the main man with three wins when Division Three leaders Harlequins cruised through against Shahs Res.
He was ably assisted in securing the points by the oldest dynamic duo in table tennis - Norman Robinson and Alan Schofield.
Second-placed Hustlers had a tight 6-4 away win over Casuals for whom captain Alan Ormerod rolled back the years in a terrific unbeaten performance.
Antley Church and third placed Three Bs shared the points in a 5-5 draw, Barrie Redding who tops the Merit Table, unbeaten for the winners.
In Division Four, New Era Res, with only two players, totally outplayed Dash in a 7-3 home win, Daniel and Martin Huntingdon the destroyers for the Youth Club side. Baxenden with Trevor Greenwood in unbeatable form, eased past Springhill 6-4.
In Division One, Royal Mail delivered the goods in a 9-1 home win over luckless Sunnybank. The Burnley trio of Matt and Andrea Harrison and super veteran Arthur Hartshorn were in tremendous form, took no prisoners against the newly-promoted opposition.
Haslingden had a similar losing scoreline against a youthful Hollands side. New recruit Mark Hanson and captain Noel Duffy were unbeaten with two victories from evergreen Eddie Pilling.
Champions Allspeeds and Old Masters clashed in a terrific match which ended in an 8-2 away win for the Engineers. Keith Ward and Keith Jackson were in outstanding form for the winners and once again Frank Hamer lost in the third set in two matches. John Thornber and Peter Wood were unlucky only to win one match each for the losers. In Division Two, relegated Standen Hall have yet to drop a point. This week they crushed Allspeeds Res 10-0, captain Don Eastwood and team-mates Robert Birch and Stuart Thompson in tremendous form .
Rovers made it three wins out of three with a 7-3 home win over Kay Street. Is there anyone to stop Jim Fielding who led from the front with three wins. There was also two wins from Blackburn import Mark Gleave.
Promotion hopefuls Mixed whitewashed Shahsmen 10-0 thanks to Derek Pilling, Ray Cullen and fast-improving Ian Pickles. Second-placed Temple Street - also unbeaten - had an easy 8-2 home win over a weakened Sports & Social side. Frank Rowland and Peter Howard were unbeaten for the winners. Raiders had a similar winning scoreline against Tek Neek. Young stars Matt Hamer and Rachel McHugh were in irresistable form for the victors and old warhorse Harry Rawcliffe had two wins and a surprise defeat against Tony Greeenhalgh 21-9, 19-21, 19-21.
