THE key to this impressive victory was again Portico's defence.
The Widnes side battled hard in the first period and held the Panthers to a 12-6 lead with tries from Neil Kearns and Mark Rigby, both converted by Craig Peel.
The sceond half saw the floodgates open as Portico piled on the points with further tries from Neil Kearns and Lee Cunningham (2).
Portico's defence continued to shine and the game was amde safe with further tries by Keith Tunstall and Chris Ashurst.
Lee Cunningham and Craig Peel added two goals apiece. Best for Portico were Keith Tunstall, Arthur Bradshaw and Paul Ashurst.
Orrell St James under 14s 4, Portico 28
Portico showed good ball handling skills to record tries through Warren Lowton, Stephen Marsh, Lee Burrows and man of the match Paul Leyland (2). Leyland added four conversions. Top tackler was Kevin Tench and the coaches award went to Chris Smith.
Woolston Rovers under sevens 32, Portico 30
Portico's tries came fromman of the match Bradley Ashuirst (2), top tackler Kurtis Jackman and Jamie Bradshaw (3). The coaches award went to David Lee, while others in form were Phil Kilgallon, Alex Kempster and Calvin Birchall.
