A BUSY main road was blocked for more than an hour after an accident involving two cars.
Police said a VW Golf car was overtaking on the A682 Gisburn Road, Blacko, near the Moorcock Inn, when it was in collision with another vehicle.
The Golf driver, John Ormerod, 40, of Nelson , suffered whiplash injuries.
He was taken to Burnley General Hospital but allowed home after treatment.
The driver of the other vehicle, a Rover 820, 32-year-old Neil Birtwell, of Riverlea Gardens, Clitheroe, was unhurt.
The accident happened at 4.40 pm yesterday and the road was blocked in both directions until 6pm as accident investigators carried out their inquiries.
The road is a notorious accident blackspot and has been the scene of several accidents, some fatal, in recent years.
