STAFF and customers at a computer firm are praying for the safe return of their 'adopted' pet cat, Marley.
The three-year-old ginger tom has been looked after by Sue Smith, retail and account manager at Express Computers in Greenfield Road, Dentons Green, since he was eight months old. But he went missing on October 6, just a week after Sue had moved to a new home on the The Shires estate off Prescot Road.
Sue, who used to live in a flat above above the company premises, explained: "I took Marley in because he was always coming into the shop and he became part of the fixtures and fittings. He's a beautiful cat with a lovely temperament and both the staff and customers are missing him.
"The last time I saw Marley was at about 9.45pm on Wednesday, October 6, when he was in the back garden. A little later I called the cats in for their dinner, but only Crystal and Fluffy returned."
"After taking an advertisement out in the Star we received a phenomenal number of calls, including some from people who thought they had spotted him, but to no avail."
When he went missing, Marley was wearing a green collar with a bell.
Anyone who thinks they may have spotted him, can contact Sue on 01744 609602, or 07971 877606; or leave a message at the sales centre at The Shires.
