PENDLE homeowners could save up to £200 a year if they follow advice from a new leaflet and exhibition being launched as part of an energy efficiency drive. The event will be held at Nelson Town Hall and council shops in Colne and Barnoldswick next week. Stephen Whittaker, Pendle Council's energy efficiency officer, is spearheading the campaign to help local people cut their fuel bills.
He said: "This is the time of the year when people turn up the heating and spend more time indoors but thousands of people waste money and energy because they don't follow easy steps to stop heat leaking out of their homes.
"The exhibition includes handy tips to cut heat loss and lists who to contact about grants and advice." Anyone would would like a free copy of the council's energy efficiency leaflet or more advice can contact Stephen on 01282 661144.
The leaflet is also available in large print and on audio tape.
