THE Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen has been admitted to hospital.
Councillor Salas Kiani, who represents Audley ward in Blackburn, went into Blackburn Royal Infirmary on Thursday after feeling unwell.
Blackburn with Darwen Council chief executive, Phil Watson, said: "We all wish the Mayor a speedy recovery.
"It is understood he may be in hospital for a few days and it is not yet clear when he will be able to resume his mayoral duties.
"In the meantime, the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Florence Oldfield, will be carrying out mayoral commitments."
