BOTH sides came into and left this game with 100 per cent records. Edenfield kept up their run of played five, won five, while the home team found their sixth defeat out of six.
The home side came into the game optimistic that they might be able to pull off a shock victory. For the first half, this looked likely with the home side playing better football, but Edenfield managed to score a goal against the run of play.
The Revidge back line were playing the offside trap well, even with the wind going against them. Ashley Chew worked non-stop up front for Revidge and created several chances for himself and team mates.
The best Revidge chance of scoring came from Adam Isherwood, who hit a rifled shot against the far post after a good move down the left-hand side. This didn't help though, as the away side went in 1-0 up at half time. As the second half started, the home side tried to make use of the wind, but to no avail.
Edenfield hit their second before Revidge got their only clearcut shot of the second period. Daniel Feeney hit the ball on the volley from well out of the Edenfield area and saw his dipping shot skim the top of the crossbar.
Communication in the Revidge team then broke down, especially between defence and goalkeeper, and Edenfield got two more goals because of this problem. Not long afterwards, Edenfield rounded the game off with their fifth and final goal of the match.
