THE Burnley side suffered an early exit from the Cup competition despite outplaying the opposition for most of the game.
The Clarets were unlucky not to take the lead when after five minutes, Natalie Brierley hit the post. Poor defending then allowed Bolton to take the lead against the run of play and it was only a point-blank save by the Bolton keeper which denied Emilie Forrest the equaliser just before half time.
Although Bolton increased their advantage early into the second half, the Burnley side continued to pile on the pressure and were rewarded with a goal from Jordan Watson.
The East Lancashire side continued to press, forcing several good saves and were unlucky not to find the equaliser which would have taken the game into extra time.
