NELSON preserved their record as the only unbeaten FNWTL Division Two team with the help of a clean sheet after a fine performance from goalkeeper Simon Burrows.
The valuable away point gained against Tetley Walker at Long Lane keeps The Blues' promotion push firmly on track.
But Burrows set the standard in the very first minute when he was forced to make a great save and continued in the same vein virtually all afternoon.
Mark Robinson was a constant threat to the home defence, but he too often fell foul of the offside trap, and even when he broke clear in the first half, the outstretched foot of the goalkeeper deflected his shot past the post.
Darren Whitaker should have made sure when he shot over the bar from Robinson's cross early in the second half, but Nelson had a real let-off after 75 minutes when Walker's Andy Flood shot tamely wide from a clear opening.
As the game reached its closing stages and Nelson looked for the winner, Neil Chapman put Robinson clear and it looked as though he must score, but he pulled his shot across the face of the goal.
Deep into injury time, Walker's centre forward Barry Edwards broke clear, but Burrows again made a great save to deny him and ensure a point for the John Bailey's side.
