I FULLY agree with the disabled driver who complained (Letters, October 13) - taxis, or any other cars, should not park in a space reserved for the disabled unless they are entitled to.
I find it strange though, that he asks: "Why are they permitted to park on double yellow lines?"
Indeed - why is anyone allowed to park on double yellow lines?
They were intended to represent no parking, as the opposite would cause obstruction or be a danger to other road users.
Yet Burnley is full of cars displaying disabled drivers' orange badges - parked on double yellow lines.
