NEIL Bramwell (LET, October 21) is quite correct in saying that Brian Kidd must resist the urge to rest his 'stars.'
It is high time he got his pound of flesh from his squad of players, and forget the 'cotton wool' attitude.
I don't know what these lads are getting paid these days, but I, as a pensioner, am very disappointed at the effort being made by most of the players week by week.
Last Wednesday night's game, as Neil said, was crying out for wingers.
I look back to the championship season, and remember Ripley on the right, with support from midfield, and Jason Wilcox on the left, with great support from Graeme Le Saux. Little wonder that Shearer and Sutton could score 30 goals a season.
Come on Brian, get the boot out.
And briefly, what about the referee? He was a breath of fresh air. Well done, Mr M Fletcher.
