MILLIONAIRE businessman Eddie Quiligotti issued a pledge to campaigners who claimed the Zeri project would rip the heart out of the local environment.
Worried conservationists expressed concern that plants and a thriving wildlife community would be destroyed once work began on the 332-acre Huncoat leisure complex. But Mr Quiligotti promised to help protect the environment.
