DIVISION One leaders Plough Inn were not in action in the league due to their involvement in the third round of the Jennings KO Trophy.

This they duly won by beating Great Eccleston 5-0. The Plough were far from flattered and this result puts them into the fourth round on November 14, the furthest any clubs have gone, and they have done it without the help of byes.

In the league, second-placed Lord Nelson and fourth Royal Hotel share the points in a 2-2 draw. De Lacy and Oaklea Alexandra met and De Lacy's 4-3 win puts them and Oaklea level on points just behind the leaders.

EH Football go up one place and the division's leading goal- scorer Mark Ince scored yet another hat trick in their 7-2 win over Brownhill Arms.

Division Two sees new leaders in Brown Cow who went 4-0 up in the first 10 minutes with that division's leading goalscorer grabbing a brace. They finally won 5-0 at the expense of bottom club Crown Scaffolds.

Alma were surprised by Calderstones Hospital whose 6-5 win keeps Alma below the Brown Cow and Cross Axes. Duke of Wellington leapfrog above Ossy Hotspur. Roebuck hold their mid-table after a narrow 3-2 win over Little Crown.

Kings Arms in Division Three retain pole position though they did not play. The remainder of the league table is somewhat distorted due to clubs not ringing in their results - the secretary must now be contacted before 2pm. Of the results in, Knuzden had a good 5-1 win over Printers Arms, Wilpshire Bull's Head continue their revival with a 4-3 win over Miners Arms, and LS Roofing got off the bottom of the league with a 4-3 victory over Woodnook in an exciting match.
