A MAN who had been thrown out of the Rendezvous nightclub in Whalley was arrested after he punched a glass fronted display stand.

Blackburn magistrates heard that police had already told Garry Platt to go home.

Platt, 25, of Padiham Road, Sabden, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. He was granted a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £55 costs.

Tom Snape, prosecuting, said officers saw Platt being ejected from the club.

He shouted and pointed at the doormen in an offensive manner and was warned and told to behave.

"He eventually went on his way but a short time later he returned and officers saw him punching the wall and then the glass panel near the door," said Mr Snape.

Platt said he had been agitated because he had been set upon inside the club.

"The bouncers picked on me and chucked me out," said Mr Platt, a chef who works in York.
