RON Freethy's feature on fox hunting (LET, October 13) was intelligent and informative.
As a nation of animal lovers, Britain should lead the way to a ban on this issue.
The argument that banning this obscene tradition erodes civil liberties would have prevented legislation being introduced to ban bull, bear and badger-baiting, which were once considered traditional.
How can we redress cruelties meted out to animals in the EU, most notably in Spain and France, until we put our own house in order first?
