LESS than a week after starting a new job Majid Hussain was caught stealing computer games.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Hussain was searched as he left the B and L Distribution Limited and three CDs were found.
Three more games were found in a parked car and Hussain later admitted stealing those during his break.
Hussain, 18, of Mandella Court, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to theft of computer CDs worth £300. He was remanded on bail until November 15 for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
Tom Snape, defending, said management had arranged for security staff to attend and carry out spot checks as staff left the packaging line.
Basharat Ditta, defending, said Hussain stood before the court a very scared young man. He said his client had left school without qualifications and had been unable to secure a permanent job. He had obtained work at B and L through a recruitment agency.
"He is a young man who is easily led and he was very much influenced by others when he took these CDs," said Mr Ditta. "When he was stopped it came as a great relief. He is no longer welcome at the agency or B and L and he realises he has let himself and his family down."
