UNBEATEN Fifth Division leaders Salesbury B are the first team in the league to score over 1,000 aces.
This side, relegated at the end of last season, seem determined to get back at the first time of asking.
Entertaining Roefield D they dominated play from the start. The visitors were always in trouble but claimed two wins throughout the match. Second-placed St Matthew's were surprisingly beaten b y mid-table Blackburn Blinds in a close match. However, the better play by the visiting men in their doubles proved to be the deciding factor which they won by a single ace.
This defeat allowed Westholme Wilmar Lodge to claim second place as a result of yet another close match in which they defeated Olympic C - yet again the men giving them a 7-9 win.
There is a new leader at the top of the First Division. With champions YMCA A inactive, two teams took advantage.
New leaders Salesbury A gained a huge win at Stanhill A, dropping a mixed doubles and ladies doubles in a one-sided match.
Brockhall continue to keep the pressure on Salesbury following their win over Independents A. Belgrave Carpets were given a whitewash by Pleckgate, and perhaps will now realise that following promotion, it is tough going in the First Division. Fellow strugglers St Philips put on a good show, but were defeated by YMCA B.
British Aerospace in the second division, continue this season's script by just being beaten again. This time they went down to St Nicholas A who were the better side on the night and deserved a win. Meanwhile, Telecom A head the table, but Roefield A now take over the second place following their one-sided match against Independent B.
In the Third Division, second-placed Westholme were completely outplayed in all areas against lowly Roefield B. The home side stamped their authority on the game early in the match and Westholme struggled from then on.
Accrington Falcons continue to dominate the top of the Fourth Division. This time they easily outplayed College. The home side were only able to clinch three games.
