A TEACHER suspended from a Hyndburn primary school following allegations of misconduct has been charged with three offences of indecent assault on boys.
The 49-year-old man, who has not been named, has been away from St Mary's RC School, Oswaldtwistle, since the investigation began in May.
He was charged yesterday and bailed to reappear at Hyndburn Magistrates' Court on November 10.
Det Sgt Neil Gregson, of Lancashire Constabulary's Child Protection Team in Clitheroe, said: "We have been investigating allegations of misconduct by a 49-year-old teacher at St Mary's RC School in Oswaldtwistle and have been waiting for an answer from the Crown Prosecution Service."
