I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with Cllr David Whittaker in his concerns at the severe drug problems which are widespread across the resort.
Such an image lowers the tone of the resort and gives us bad credibility to the outside world.
While I appreciate and admire the efforts done so far to improve the West End these difficulties emphasise that much more remains to be done.
Poverty and lack of opportunities for young people are contributory factors to these problems and until these are tackled in a positive, consistent and comprehensive manner, the residents of the West End can once again live and work in an area of which they are proud to be a part of (the same can be said for other areas such as Poulton).
With the courage and vision of the local community and the support of Lancaster Council - these small miracles can be achieved.
Keep up the good work David!
