DOG lovers Jan and Garry Harney have rescued a St Bernard.
They have adopted five-year-old Big George and given him a comfy new home.
But there is one BIG problem. He is too huge to get into the car to join in family trips.
So Jan, of Green Lane, Leigh, (pictured) is now hoping to sell the snazzy family soft top, and replace it with something more suitable to carry the newcomer.
She said: "We had a rescued Great Dane who died last year at the age of 10. Garry was absolutely gutted, and we decided to have another giant - but didn't think it would happen quite so quickly.
"Our coal merchant, Frank Wardle, told us his wife, Eileen, does a lot for St Bernard Rescue which needs foster homes.
"I volunteered to help out, unknown to Garry, and hence George. His former owner had become wheelchair bound after an accident and sadly couldn't care for him anymore.
"We've now adopted him to join our two rescued spaniels and daughter and son Kate, 15, and Nick, 10. We already love him to bits.
"All we need now is a suitable vehicle to take him out with the rest of the family." 279/216/27
