ON Saturday in Bury town centre I was faced with an extremely offensive display of naked flesh.
I thought that Bury councillors had voted to end this kind of "show", due to its offensive nature. Their powers must not have penetrated to the town centre yet.
Wherever I looked there were vulgar displays of leg and breast which, quite frankly, shocked me. And all this before eleven o'clock in the morning, when children were about. I also found it unbelievable that the new showpiece of Bury town centre should be engaged in this indecent spectacle.
Have the Bury councillors responsible for the banning of strip shows - without consulting the public - overlooked the new meat and fish hall and various town centre butchers?
So I ask these same councillors when they intend to ban such displays of naked flesh - and will the public have a say in their decision?
