THE people of Kosovo are to get extra help from Lancashire as they prepare to survive the coming winter.
Lancashire County Council has teamed up with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council after the authority launched a plea for warm clothing and footwear.
The donations will be distributed to the people of the town of Shtime and its surrounding villages.
County councillor Doreen Pollitt, chairman of the social services committee, said: "Earlier this year the people of Lancashire opened their hearts to the refugees from Kosovo.
"The generosity and willingness to help touched everyone and I am delighted that we have been able to ensure that some of the excess clothing we had could be forwarded to Kosovo itself."
