FORTY fit cyclists from a Leigh local teamed up to make life brighter for a little girl suffering from spinal cancer.
The squad, whose ages range from seven to 70, pushed off on a sponsored charity bike ride to Southport, to raise funds for six-years-old Louise Sanders.
The event was the first of a fund raising spree for Louise, a neighbour of Our House pub on Leigh Road.
Louise and twin sister Emma met up with the team when they arrived at The Park in Southport and again later when they returned to Leigh.
In the evening she was a guest of honour at a gala evening of entertainment.
Fund raising for Louise finishes at the end of this month with a presentation evening at Our House featuring karaoke and the auction of a signed Manchester United shirt.
A spokesperson for the charity committee said: "This was our second annual charity bike ride, and we would like to thank everyone who took part, gave their time and money and individuals who donated raffle prizes, the rugby clubs who gave shirts for auction, Whittles Cycles, Asda, Regency Glass, Volex, Leigh Rangers and the Ellesmere.
"Thanks also go to Jim and Carol at Our House for their support during months of preparation and providing T-shirts for the riders. The atmosphere on the day was amazing."
